Here is my latest Santa carving. I call him Cool shades Santa.

Here is my very first fish carving. Took a while to do, as this is completely new for me. He is carved from basswood, the base is a natural piece of driftwood given to me by an old friend. Hope you enjoy.

Here's my latest Santa. He is based off a carving done by Pat Moore. Not from her rough out but just based on a picture of one of her carvings. Hope you enjoy. He is about 12 inches tall.

A Wizard carving just finished up. The scene on the back was airbrushed with a stencil and then touched up by hand to get the effects I wanted.

A Bengal tiger I just finished up. Carving him wasn't too bad. Getting the color I wanted and getting the stripes on him were the hard part. Each tiger has stripes that are unique to them and the stripes are symmetrical side to side. I airbrushed the main colors and then hand painted in the stripes to get them a close as I could. The glass eyes were clear flints that had to be hand painted, because I couldn't find the right color. All in all I am genuinely pleased with him, being this is only the second one I've carved.

Here's a stylized heron I recently finished. Sanded down through 800 grit sandpaper then spent an hour rubbing him out with a brown paper bag. Three coats of spray satin lacquer, bagged between each coat and finished off with two coats of Johnsons paste wax.

Wood spirit

Had some catalpa laying around that a friend gave me. I finally got around to cutting it up this is from a piece of the slab wood which is one inch thick. It's eleven and a half long and four inches wide. First time I ever carved catalpa, I really like the grain and it carves fairly easy.
