Welcome to Old Bear Woodcarving. Here you can view some of my carvings and take a peek into my shop. In the future I will be adding some tutorials and post some of the tips and techniques I have learned in my thirty plus years of wood carving. A Bengal tiger I just finished up. Carving him wasn't too bad. Getting the color I wanted and getting the stripes on him were the hard part. Each tiger has stripes that are unique to them and the stripes are symmetrical side to side. I airbrushed the main colors and then hand painted in the stripes to get them a close as I could. The glass eyes were clear flints that had to be hand painted, because I couldn't find the right color. All in all I am genuinely pleased with him, being this is only the second one I've carved.
