Welcome to Old Bear Woodcarving. Here you can view some of my carvings and take a peek into my shop. In the future I will be adding some tutorials and post some of the tips and techniques I have learned in my thirty plus years of wood carving. Hope you enjoy, visit often and let me know what you think.

This a Santa recently completed. He is carved from pine taken off an old pallet. This is the first time I've carved pine that had this much detail. It actually took the detail well. I plan on painting it with oil paints thinned with boiled linseed oil. I don't paint a lot of carvings with oil because of the extended drying time. Usually takes about a week before I can apply the finish coat. I will post up when I finish painting him.
